Well, despite the more or less constant pain in my lower back
and the burn of bursitis in both hips,
and not withstanding my apprehension about that new smell in the garage
and the housing development going in where I like to walk in the woods,
and despite the fear that my grandchildren will live in a Fourth Reich
while this world turns to burnt toast,
and regardless of worrying about having a stroke which will paralyze the left side of my
body so that I drool down one side of my mouth and lose control of my bowels,
and in spite of my nagging fear that there’s really nothing but darkness after death,
and the even greater fear that I will be reincarnated and have to learn all those goddamned
things I’ve had to learn all over again,
I would say I’m grateful to be here.
Thank you for asking.
Rick – your meanderings on ‘how are you’ are right on! Thanks for your always humorous and insightful comments. And hoping the smell in the garage is not wafting over from my smokers who inbibe in various legal substances. Let me know if so. Beth

Fear not. I don’t know what the smell was, but it went away after I cleaned the garage. (There’s a lesson there somewhere.)

lots to worry about; more to be thankful about. Breathe, smile, and sit in a sunny spot for awhile. Glad you are here on earth with us.

Hi Rick,
Well, I don’t have all your symptoms, but I’m plenty depressed about the election results. Our district even supported the new liar-in-chief! And how about all the lame brains he’s been appointing. Stupid and evil! It will be interesting to see how Collins manages to oppose any nomination after she judges how her opposition won’t hurt their chances for approval. Those ring kissing Republicans are a spineless bunch. And we haven’t seen anything yet! Joe

Whew! Thanks for your voice and sharing. Couldn’t have said it any better (or as well — I’m still too: angry, worried, apprehensive; frustrated; confused; outraged; ad nauseum). The sun is shining today, so I’m going to take your lead and go for a walk. 😊
